Why neutering or spaying?

Problem : Some dog and cat owners just leave them to reproduce – then when the babies come along, the little ones are disposed of by various means, fair or foul.

Result: Overpopulation of kittens and puppies, both generally and in rescue centres – if any are available.

Solution : To sterilise, thereby preventing unwanted pregnancies.

Advantages :

  1. Neutering stops problems associated with reproduction:  females calling, hormonal problems, smelly cats, spraying, fighting, roaming away from their home, etc.
  2. Considerably boosts their natural immune system, resulting in healthier pets.  Female cats that have been spayed live longer too, and look after themselves better. Sterilisation reduces the risk of cancer.
  3. Sterilised cats have a better quality of life, and are far happier and more affectionate.

Those who respect animals and get animals neutered, will be happy in the knowledge that they’ve done their bit.  That is, to prevent unwanted pregnancies, unlike the misery suffered by animals that haven’t been neutered, let alone the plight of the unwanted kittens.

Sterilisation is an age-old procedure, and without risk.

Don’t leave it! To reduce the feline population naturally, neutering and spaying is the answer.  One un-spayed female cat (a queen), can give birth to at least 15 kittens (3 litters) per year.  And that’s only one cat.

We owe it to companion animals to sterilise them.
