SOS Animaux Tunisie

Introduction

SOS Animaux is an organisation founded in October 2007, by lady veterinary surgeon Dr Raoudha Mansour who is the President.  She was joined by fellow animal lovers, determined to improve the lives of animals and ensure their well being.

Objectives:

  • To fight against animal cruelty and neglect
  • Protect and help animals that are suffering
  • Change the general mindset of the public, by showing alternative methods of curbing the flood of strays.

Our plan of action:

  • To organise campaigns involving the media, to alert the general public of the terrible living conditions for a lot of animals in Tunisia.
  • To organise neutering and vaccination campaigns for strays, be they dogs or cats
  • Promote education in schools regarding animal welfare and respect.

(English translator’s note: from enquiries made last year, 2009, the cheapest option for sending monetary donations from England is to send Sterling cash using the “Signed For International” facility; it’s a form of recorded delivery.  Cash up to £36 costs £3.50, plus postage. You have to fill in a Customs Declaration, but that’s normal procedure anyway.  The post office clerk gave me a small supply of these forms to complete as and when).
