As the saying goes: “A pet is for life”
Adopting an animal is a very serious commitment, and as such should be thought out very carefully beforehand. The commitment should last on average, 15 years.
It should not be done on a whim. An animal is a living being that deserves time, attention and love.
To adopt is a huge task; you need to ensure you can pay for the animal’s food, annual injections and of course, be able to pay vets’ bills should that need arise. You should also think of arrangements that would have to be made when you go on holiday: cattery, boarding kennel, etc.
Whatever companion animal you choose, it/they will enrich your lives. It’s also a well-known fact in medical circles, that people with a pet/pets are more relaxed, and less prone to stress.
Don’t buy from a shop or breeder – adopt!
