After all, prevention’s better than cure.

Our Fete, held at Marsa

This fete was well-put-together and attracted the public for all the right reasons !  We had a wonderful, dedicated team and, moreover, there was a lovely atmosphere.

There were crowds of people, which led to a much healthier kitty !

Everyone did as much as they could.

Thank you Yasmine, for your cakes and gateaux.  They disappeared before you could wink ! You could say they sold like hot cakes !

Thank you Myriam and Nour, for the orange cake and tea – and for being two smart young ladies !

Thanks also go to Sarrah’s Mum!

What a chore, eh, having to give these sweet kittens a cuddle!  They definitely have the “Awwwww! Factor”, don’t you think?  Of course, I have to  add a timely reminder that a kitten is for life …………

Fancy going shopping? Next month at Tunis!

We’re not in the habit of moaning about “our lot” here at SOS Animaux Tunisia; we’ve always organised ourselves to work within our limited means.  We’ve helped the animals FORCED TO LIVE ON THE STREETS, or those who have been MISTREATED.  All through no fault of their own.

Now, the charity is full to bursting with these cast-off animals.

The cattery houses a lot of adult cats.  However, because of the huge problem of abandoned animals, we need a second cattery now:  a medical cattery, where they can recuperate after minor medical treatment, or surgery.

Part of the kennels is without shelter, and Tunisia gets very cold indeed in the winter months.

WE CAN’T TAKE ANY MORE ANIMALS – the building is full to bursting with them, and the numbers haven’t gone down much.

Now, the cashbox is completely empty.  Yes, completely empty.

Although we are very lucky to have such dedicated supporters and volunteers, we do not have that many subscribing members! We rely on the donations of our generous supporters and members; without it, there is no money.

Therefore, could I ask you to take a moment and think about  joining the charity?  By doing this you’d be helping us give the animals some happiness;  some quality of life.  Or would you think, at least, of bringing them some food.

Could I also ask you to think about giving some of your time each week, as a volunteer helping these lovely creatures that you love?

The animals don’t ask for much:  they just need your compassion, some food and drinking water in their bellies, and a cuddle now and then!  They like to be talked to as well – just watch their ears and faces as you chat with them!

PLEASE DON’T BUY A PET!  ADOPT ONE!

The telephone doesn’t ring much from potential adopters, and at this rate we won’t be able to take in any more for a long time.

So there you have it: the situation that we’ve found ourselves in.  The much-loved charity that now desperately needs funds and support.

Help the animals of Tunisia.  Come and join us!

Many thanks.

Now, coming up: Back by popular demand, A big event at TUNIS!  Our second one.   So – here it is!

Needless to say, it’s a sale to raise funds for SOS Animals, Tunisia.

To you now, my friends, to succeed in this event we need your help!  Read on ……

We need donations of just about everything:  books, clothes, toys, ornaments, electrical items, Hi-Fi, – PLEASE, IN GOOD CONDITION! – to sell at this Fete.  It goes without saying that by donating, and buying, items at the event it will be helping the animals that are forced to live on the streets, the forgotten ones, ones merely dumped and treated like rubbish, the ill-treated ones.

FRIENDS, THIS IS YOUR ORGANISATION!  PLEASE, SUPPORT IT!  We’ve witnessed the sheer generosity of the public; we couldn’t do it without you.

Thank you!

Our dear and much-loved member, Thouraya Wahada, is co-ordinating the collection of donations over at the north of Tunis.

Tel – 98 301 999 – 27 301 999

At Nabeul, you can call us on the normal telephone number of SOS Animaux, i.e. 25 328 328.

Extract of Speech from our President

This extract is fresh from the speech of the President of the Republic delivered today (translated into English as near to the original as possible):

To widen even more the recognised space devoted to information in radio and television broadcasts, in order to bring together public opinion activity, to inform the citizen, and to widen the ability for debate, who so wishes.

(English translator’s note: If you are in any doubt about the above translation and would like clarification, please contact SOS Animaux Tunisia via the contact details mentioned above this posting.  Thank you.)

Elisabeth in her new home.

This little spot of fluff almost blends in with the sofa, doesn’t she!

Here she is in the arms of her new Forever Mum; she’d come all the way from Marsa to adopt one of our little girl kitties.
