SOS Animaux Tunisie

In all of her career as a vet, our President Dr Raoudha Mansour has never seen such horror and suffering as in the case of this poor little cat, who in one photo is laying in Dr Mansour’s hands.

A supporter found the little cat on the main Nabeul highway.   This guardian angel thought at first that the female cat was dead, so she pulled in by the roadside to take away this barely-recogniseable lump laying by the roadside.  It was then that she realised that the cat was STILL ALIVE!

Deeply moved by this poor cat’s plight, she brought her to SOS Animaux.  I must confess that I was at SOS Animaux at the time, but I couldn’t bring myself to see her.  I’d heard the comments from the others there; I saw their distressed faces and that of Raoudha, all deeply moved.

Her body had been burnt by fire or acid; rigid, deformed or neglected paws, her mouth literally stuck, eyes almost closed, a creature that was suffering and had suffered terribly – and for how long?

You can imagine that this cat “accidentally fell” into the flames or a bowl of acid.   Whatever, this was still ill-treatment by humans.

Thanks to our friend who overcame her horror and distress, and compassionately brought this poor little thing to Dr Mansour.  There, the last thing she did for her was to stay and do something to help with her treatment.  Sadly, the little cat was too badly injured, but at least she was surrounded by care and love when she left this world.

She now rests in peace, in Dr Mansour’s garden.
